John “Golden” Mickens III, grandson of an infamous 1970s Oakland pimp, is released from prison after serving a decade for a brutal assault.
Determined to move forward, he returns to a city that has changed, yet remains haunted by old demons.
When he learns his estranged daughter has been pulled into a human trafficking ring, Golden is forced to confront his past as he sets out on a relentless mission to save her and take down the operation—descending into the darkest corners of the city’s underworld along the way.
